One of the most common issues with a sunroof installation is a leak during a downpour. It is tempting to try to sort the issue yourself by tinkering with the seal.
However this is often not the cause of the problem. Sunroofs are fitted with tubes to allow the water to pass through and drain away. These may have become clogged. Vinyl and rubber sealants or protections are mostly ineffective and sticky, and can cause more damage to the seal as well as making a mess of the glass. A specific sunroof seal is required.
If the open/close mechanism fails and you are left with a partially closed sunroof this can have significant detrimental effects on the interior if left untreated.
